President orders govt to speed up rescue
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of life in floods and rain-related incidents in the country, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. President directed the authorities concerned to take immediate steps to rescue stranded people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani telephoned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and expressed grief over the deaths. The PM assured Hoti that his government would provide full support to the KP government in helping the flood-affected people. app
