PM takes aerial view of KP flood-hit areas
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani flew to Peshawar on Friday afternoon to meet Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s chief minister and senior officials to express solidarity and receive first hand information about the damages caused by the heavy rains and floods in various parts of the province. After a brief stopover at the Peshawar airport, Gilani boarded a helicopter and took an aerial view of the flood-affected areas. He issued instructions to the organisations concerned for urgent rescue, relief and rehabilitation of the people trapped and dislocated because of the floodwaters. Separately, PM Gilani, while talking to Senator Dr Abdul Malik and Senator Hasil Khan Bizenjo, who had called on him at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat on Friday, said he is in touch with the Balochistan CM to monitor the flood situation and relief operations. app
