US to provide seven choppers for flood relief efforts: Patterson
ISLAMABAD: US Ambassador to Pakistan Anne W Patterson on Friday announced that as an initial response to the massive flash flooding in the country, the US government would immediately provide seven helicopters to assist the government in its relief efforts. “The heavy monsoon rains have caused much suffering,” Patterson said, adding that the US was “working with Pakistan’s government to review urgent humanitarian needs and hopes to announce additional assistance very soon”. staff report
