Strategic dialogues with Pakistan will continue: U.S
WASHINGTON: U.S. said strategic dialogues with Pakistan would continue, as the working group slated holding talks on July 5.
State Department spokesman Mark Toner told reporters that the U. S. was determined to work together with Pakistan against terrorism. Pakistan facing the dangers of terrorism, as hundreds over there became its victims.
He said that U.S. –Pakistan relations were beset with some serious challenges, but thd strategic dialogues would continue. While no date has yet been set for the next session of the US-Pakistan strategic dialogue, he said: "We have high-level engagement with Pakistan, as well as the substantive working groups continue to meet as well."
"I'm not going to sugarcoat the fact that we've had some pretty serious challenges in our bilateral relationship, but the strategic dialogue continues," Toner said when asked if political considerations were preventing the scheduling of the dialogue.
U.S. Deputy Foreign Minister for International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, William Brown would be attending the July 5 field working group talks.
When quizzed on vacating Shamsi Airbase in Blaochistan, he said that this could be well replied by the Pakistan9i officials. He was not aware that U.S. personnel were present in Shamsi Airbase.
