Power shortfall at 4729MW
LAHORE: The energy shortfall in the country has once again increased and currently stands at 4,729 MW, Geo News reported.
The hours of unannounced loadshedding have also increased. Due to an increase in the demand for electricity, cities are experiencing 10-12 hours while rural areas are experiencing 16-18 hours of loadshedding.
Not only have households been impacted but businesses are also feeling the brunt of the increased hours of loadshedding. The spokesman for PEPCO adds that due to the decrease in the supply of oil and gas, powerhouses are not producing electricity at optimal levels.
