Dir clashes kill eight Afghan militants
DIR: Clashes between security forces and Afghan militants continue in Upper Dir for the second consecutive day, Geo News reported. Till now, eight Afghan militants have been killed while two members of the local Lashkar have lost their lives, while five have been injured.
On Wednesday, the militants attacked the village of Kharao near the border area of Barawal and according to sources there are between 800-1,000 militants spread across the area.
The militants have set four schools on fire, fifteen shops and one mosque.
Search operation against Afghan terrorists is being carried out in Nusratdarra, Kharao, Batorkalay and Sarokalay areas. The search operation is being conducted by police and the local Lashkar and a curfew has been imposed in Barawal.
An unidentified person was arrested during funeral prayers for a Lashkar member in Nusratdarra.
