Judiciary can’t interfere in transfers, postings: Babar

ISLAMABAD: The transfers and postings in the federal government departments was a prerogative of the executive and it did not fall in the jurisdiction of the courts, former federal minister for law, justice and parliamentary affairs, Dr Babar Awan said on Thursday. Addressing the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) district information secretaries, he said that as the executive had no right to interfere in the judicial transfers and postings, similarly the judiciary had no right to intervene in the transfers and postings of the civil as well as in the military establishments because nobody was above the constitution and law. Awan pointed out that in the last 40 years no judicial verdict had been delivered in favour of the PPP, while in the last 30 years, no decision came against the Takht-e-Lahore referring to the Shahbaz Sharif-led Punjab government. app
