Pak-US relations on track: FO

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office said on Thursday that Pakistan-United States relationship is on track. Briefing newsmen, FO spokesperson Tehmina Janjua acknowledged that there were difficulties in the relationship in the past “but the two sides are trying to remove them through dialogue and discussions”. “The two countries are making efforts to recommence work on the strategic dialogue process.” The spokesperson said there was recognition in the US administration about importance of relationship with Pakistan. About cross-border attacks inside Pakistan from Afghanistan, she said the prime minister on Wednesday took up the issue with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to express serious concern over the matter. There was a common concern between the two countries on the issue, she added. Janjua said joint working group of Pakistan and India on the Cross-LoC Confidence Building Measures would meet in New Delhi on July 18. app
