SC orders against ‘shoulder promotion’ of 879 police in Sindh
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered that the 879 police officers promoted without merit in Sindh be restored to their original ranks in seven days, Geo News reported.
The SC bench comprising of Justice Javed Iqbal and Justice Ghulam Rabbani heard the suo moto case of the police shoulder promotions and had summoned the provincial and federal IG’s.
In their remarks the Judges said that the situation of the police was serious and the shoulder promotion of 879 policemen was a cause for alarm.
