KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi on Monday distributed raw ration among some 400 affected families of the violence-hit areas of Orangi Town. JI Karachi Amir Muhammad Hussain Mehnati, along with his office-bearers distributed food items and assured the affected residents of JI’s cooperation. On the occasion residents told JI delegation that they were facing acute shortage of food, as it was impossible for them to move outside due to continuous gunfire and worst law and order situation. Besides, markets and shops also remained closed, they added. They condemned the role of law enforcement agencies and the government, who did nothing to save their lives and belongings. Mehnati said that JI always supports underprivileged segments of the society. “We took out peace march, we contacted police administration and the government but it seems that the relevant authorities are not serious in maintaining the law and order, he said. staff report
