Democracy supporters enacted a dictator’s law: Sabzwari

KARACHI: MQM leader Faisal Sabzwari said Wednesday that those who claim to support democracy have reinstated the ordinance of a dictator, Geo News reported.

Speaking to the media Sabzwari said that people in Karachi were being killed in broad daylight and the MQM had requested the Sindh Assembly session to protest against the violence in the city.

Speaking about the commissionerate system, Sabzwari said that the MQM had boycotted the provincial assembly system in protest of this and asked how was it fair that the system of Musharraf was bad and that of Zia good. He added the members of PPP should travel to Naudero and ask if the laws of Zia were acceptable.

Faisal Sabzwari said that the ordinance was being used to divide the people of Karachi and Hyderabad and asked why the resignations of MQM MPAs and the governor were not accepted.

He said that the MQM wanted to discuss the ordinances, but they were not allotted opposition benches and this prompted them to inform the acting speaker of the Sindh Assembly to not push them into taking steps which had been take in the past.

Fasail Sabzwari said that the MQM would continue to unite the people of the province and want to work for the prosperity of Sindh.
