Pakistan’s ambassador to Denmark given extension

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has approved two years extension in service for Fauzia Abbas, Ambassador of Pakistan to Denmark, on humanitarian grounds. Fauzia Abbas lost her husband on June 30, 2011 after a brief bout with cancer.
The prime minister expressed his sorrow and grief over the sad demise of former ambassador Shahbaz during his meeting with Fauzia Abbas at Prime Minister’s House. He offered fateha for the departed soul and appreciated the professional credentials of the deceased. The prime minister observed that ambassador Shahbaz was an officer of high stature and represented his country in the most distinguished manner particularly as ambassador of Pakistan in Vienna. During his postings in Geneva, Hague and Vienna, he acquired great expertise in the field of disarmament and chemical weapons. He earned a reputation for himself as a spokesperson of the G-77 in Vienna.
