Talks ongoing with MQM to rejoin govt: Ashiq

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said Tuesday that talks with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) to rejoin the government were ongoing, Geo News reported.

She said that all political parties had to cooperate in order to maintain law and order in Karachi. Speaking to the media, the information minister said she wanted the MQM to rejoin the government and it was up to the MQM to decide if it would join the government or sit in the opposition. Awan added that the doors of reconciliation are always open in politics.

Speaking about foreign relations she said that Pak-India talks would help in eliminating misunderstandings between the two countries and a stable and prosperous Afghanistan meant that there would be stability and prosperity in Pakistan as well.
