MQM allotted opposition benches in Sindh Assembly

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has been allotted opposition benches in the Sindh Assembly, Geo News reported. MQM MPA Raza Haroon while speaking to reporters said that three to four individuals were under consideration for the position of opposition leader.

MQM leader Syed Sardar Ahmed said that MQM was in the opposition and it was its responsibility to present its reservations in front of the government.

Following the postponement of elections on three AJK assembly seats, the MQM had announced that it was parting ways with the PPP led coalition government. The party had decided that it would sit on opposition benches in the National and Sindh Assemblies. Sindh Governor Dr. Ishrat ul Ebad had also tendered his resignation however MQM Chief Altaf Hussain asked Ebad to resume his position as Governor as desired by President Asif Ali Zardari.
