Land mafia involved in Katti Pahari violence: IG Sindh
SUKKUR: IG Sindh, Wajid Durrani said Saturday that the land mafia was behind violence in Katti Pahari, Geo News reported.Speaking to the media at the Sukkur police headquarters, Durani said 17 target killers had been arrested and they were being interrogated while several individuals involved in arson attacks were also apprehended and ammunition had been recovered from them.
On the strengthening of the police force, IG Sindh said that President Zardari had announced a grant of Rs. 5 billion. He also directed all police personnel to take necessary steps to control crime. Durrani added that 10,000 new recruits had been inducted to the police force and an Rs 4,000 increase in salaries of police personnel would be implemented soon.
