Pakistan wants ‘result oriented’ dialogue with India

NEW DELHI: Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar has arrived in the Indian capital ahead of ministerial level talks with her Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna, Geo News reported. The foreign ministers will meet on Wednesday.

Upon her arrival, Khar said Pakistan and India are aware of their responsibilities and both countries have learnt from past mistakes.

Prior to her arrival in New Delhi, the Foreign Minister spoke to the media in Lahore and said Pakistan wanted the dialogue process with India to be result oriented adding that both countries are committed to an uninterrupted dialogue process which would lead to peace and development for the entire region.

“Both countries are committed to solve all outstanding issues through the dialogue process,” Khar said.

When asked about terrorism, the Foreign Minister claimed that since Pakistan has a commitment to fight terrorism, other countries also have a commitment towards this, and this shows a convergence of views and interests within the region.

Pakistan’ stance on the Kashmir issue is well established and the views of the Kashmiri leadership should be included in the process.

"All issues can be solved through engagement,” she said.

The opposition had been consulted ahead of the talks, and according to Khar they were all supportive of the dialogue process.

The dialogue process between Pakistan and India broke down following the Mumbai attacks and was resumed in February.
