PPP, MQM, ANP agree to join hands for peace in Karachi

KARACHI: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ebad Khan chaired a meeting of the leaders of the PPP, MQM and ANP on Monday. A statement said that the leaders of all three parties agreed to undertake concerted efforts for the maintenance of peace in the metropolis and stressed that action be initiated without any distinction between the elements involved in acts of violence and lawlessness. The governor called for unity and cohesion in the efforts being made to achieve peace in the city and in carrying forward the process of reconciliation, democracy and stability. The leaders of the three parties agreed that, in view of challenges being faced by the country and in the wake of the prevailing situation, the entire nation should unite and the spirit of brotherhood should be fostered. staff report
