Countrywide protracted power outage persists
KARACHI: Different cities across the country braving prolonged power outage in blistering heat and extremely hot and humid summer weather, while Chaman electricity supply went on shrinking to currently mere two hours daily.
Balochistan northern areas including the towns and cities of Chaman, Pishin, Qila Saifullah, Ziarat, Zhob and Loralai experiencing the worst-ever load shedding spanning over 18 hours, while in Chaman since last 10 days it has further stretched to over 22 hours.
Unavailability of electricity has created acute shortage of potable water, while the business and trade have suffered most rendering people unemployed.
Similar is the situation in Khayber Pakhtunkhaw areas including Swat, Shangla, Malakand, Lower and Upper Dir rural and urban areas, where load shedding duration has extended up to 18 hours.
Load shedding all across Sindh also continuing. The rural and urban areas of Nawabshah, Larkana and Jacobabad groaning under 12/14 hours of load shedding, while Hyderabad for 8/10 hours.
Punjab situation is no different. Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bhawalpur, Faisalabad, Gojranawala, Sargodha and Chechawatni’s rural and urban areas facing 16 hours of load shedding, piling miseries on the people.
