No cause of Airblue crash listed in CAA interim report
ISLAMABAD: A year after the Airblue plane crash, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has issued a statement, which is being termed as an interim report, Geo News reported. The media has already highlighted the findings of the interim report several times. According to the report the plane flew into the Margalla Hills and crashed at a distance of 17.77 KM from Islamabad.
A detailed investigation by an expert team headed by President Safety Investigation Board was carried out. All aspects including internal/external sabotage, incapacitation of the aircraft systems, flight fire, bird strike or structural fatigue, human factor, organizational factors and others were adequately analyzed in the investigation. The report however does not state the cause or the reason behind the crash, nor does it hold anyone responsible.
The interim report states that the investigation report has been completed and sent to the federal government. The investigation report will be released when comments from companies which manufactured and designed the place are received.
The Airblue plane crash was the worst aviation disaster in the history of Pakistan. All 152 passengers and crew on board were killed when Airblue flight 202 crashed into the Margalla Hills. It has been one year since the horrific crash and yet the reason behind it is not known. The families of the victims are still seeking answers and the death of their loved ones still remains a mystery.
