PM rules out clash between institutions
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that those who wish clash between the institutions will be disappointed. Talking to the parliamentary secretaries at the Prime Minister House Wednesday evening, the prime minister said that the elected government knew how to resolve complex national issues. He said that judiciary, executive and parliament were part of the constitutional system. “All institutions will collectively strengthen the system,” he hoped. Gilani secretaries that restoration of democracy in the country owed itself to a nine-year untiring struggle by Benazir Bhutto (BB). “We will not let this struggle and sacrifices go waste,” he vowed. He expressed the optimism that if all state institutions worked within their constitutional ambits, democracy would flourish in the country. He further said that Pakistan’s democracy could not go into a blind alley. “Those who spread despondency are doing no service to democracy,” he observed. The prime minister said that Pakistan had a democratically elected government and constitutional institutions. He observed that the elements, who were desirous of a clash between institutions, continued to make such statements, and people were fed up with their statements.The prime minister said that parliamentary secretaries were playing very important role in the parliamentary form of government. He mentioned that most of the present leaders and ministers had served as parliamentary secretaries. staff report
