‘PML-N won’t let parliament to safeguard corruption’

MURREE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif said on Saturday that PML-N would not allow parliament to shield corruption, neither the party would allow anyone to attack parliament.
Addressing a high-level consultative meeting of the PML-N, Nawaz said there was no doubt about the supremacy of parliament but the government would not be allowed to jeopardise the judiciary. “The government will have to abide by orders of the judiciary,” Nawaz asserted. He said Pakistan’s future was linked to supremacy of law and that the PML-N would never disappoint the nation in this regard.
The PML-N chief said his party did not believe in personal or party approach, adding that the PML-N would continue to raise its voice for the rights of people.
According to sources, the PML-N consultative meeting decided that the party would stick to its principled stance on the implementation of verdicts of the superior judiciary.
Overall political situation in the country, new parliamentary session starting tomorrow (Monday), various cases being heard in the Supreme Court (SC) and the government’s stance on judicial decisions were discussed at the meeting. agencies
