Petition filed in SC to set up commission to write letter
ISLAMABAD: A petition was filed in the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday, requesting the court to form a commission to write a letter to Swiss authorities for reopening graft cases against the president if the prime minister does not compose the document. Ashraf Gujjar, the petitioner, said in his application that the stance taken by the ruling PPP, government and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf with regards to writing to Swiss authorities is “malicious and contemptuous”. Gujjar said the prime minister was obliged to comply with SC’s directions under the constitution. He requested the court to summon Raja and order him to write a letter to reopen cases against President Asif Ali Zardari. staff report
