24 out of 33 doctors under house arrest released
LAHORE: The Punjab government has released 24 striking doctors put under house arrest after getting assurance of their co-operation to the authorities, Geo News reported.
The police had raided various hostels of the medical colleges just before midnight of July 1st and arrested 33 young doctors under MPO in a damage control bid.
The doctors were released after they signed an unconditional apology and assured the city government not to take part in the strike in future.
Those who were released include, Dr Zaheer Abbas, Dr Mohammad Umair, Dr Shamshad Ali, Dr Kamran Farooq, Dr Khalid Jamal, Dr Umair Saleem Wark, Dr Mohammad Nadeem, Dr Gulfam Ahmed, Dr Sajjad Baloch, Dr Shaid Iqbal, Dr Ahsanullah, Dr Imran Chatta, Dr Adil Ameen, Dr Hassan Tariq Bhatti, Dr Noman Rafi, Dr Jawwad Pervez, Dr Amir Asghar, Dr Farhad Sahi, Dr Sarfaraz, Dr Lucas Verma, Dr Yasir Qayum, Dr Waseem and Dr Jibran Sindho.
