LHC orders Young Doctors to return to duty at 9AM
LAHORE: Justice Ijaz Ul Hassan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered all striking doctors from the Young Doctors Association (YDA) to return to their duties in emergency wards at 9:00 AM Saturday.During hearing of the YDA strike case, Justice Hassan remarked that the Punjab government should not harass the doctors while the provincial health secretary informed the court that senior doctors had prepared a service structure for the YDA.
Earlier during proceedings, Justice Hassan remarked that he had sympathies with the doctors but refusing to treat patients was the wrong step. He further said that refusing to end the strike was contempt of court in light of the orders of the Supreme Court.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned till Saturday.
