Cabinet decides uniform loadshedding across country

ISLAMABAD: The federal Cabinet has decided to implement a uniform loadshedding schedule across country and uninterrupted supply of electicity during Iftar, Sahar, and Taraveeh, Geo News reported.

The Cabinet met here today with Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the chair and deliberated upon the prevailing energy crisis in the country.

Federal Secretary Water & Power briefed the ministers about the power generation. The Cabinet was informed that shortfall has reduced by 3500 MW and till the end of this year at least 2000 MW would be added to the national grid.

PPI adds: It further decided to refer running of small vehicles on hydrogen extracted from water. The matter was brought to the notice of the Cabinet by Religious Affairs Minister who witnessed its demonstration in Sukkur.

Cabinet in principle approved to increase seats for non-Muslims in Assemblies proportionate to their population. It constituted a Committee comprising Ministers for Law‚ Interfaith Harmony & Religious Affairs to submit report in the next Cabinet meeting.
