Rainfall causes power breakdown in Sindh

HYDERABAD: The claims for the preparation of monsoon season by the Sindh government flooded late on Tuesday night after the province is experiencing a power breakdown.

Many cities and districts of the province including Hyderabad, Badin, Mitthi, Tharparkar, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, Tando Ala yar have gone under darkness due to the technical fault in 500KV main transmission line of HESCO near Jamshoro caused by rainfall.

According t the HESCO spokesman Muhammad Sadiq, a technical fault occurred in 500KV main transmission line due to wind and rainfall after which various parts of Sindh plunges into darkness.

The spokesman said that the repairing teams have been sent to recover the system, however added that no time frame of the recovery can be given.

Meanwhile, alternate electricity is being supplied to eight grid stations of Hyderabad, Latifabad and Qasimabad from Kotri power station.
