Musharraf’s arrest warrants issued in Bugti murder case
QUETTA: A special anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Sibbi on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for former president Pervez Musharraf, former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, Balochistan former chief minister Jam Mohammad Yousaf, Balochistan former governor Awais Ahmed Ghani and other accused nominated in the Akbar Bugti murder case. The arrest warrants were issued by ATC judge Nawaz Khan Barakzai while hearing the murder case of Akbar Bugti, which was registered at the Kohlu Police Station. The sessions court in Kohlu had sent the case through the high court to the anti-terrorism court in Sibbi on July 4. Arrest warrants were also issued for former interior minister Aftab Khan Sherpao, former Balochistan home minister Shoaib Nosherwani and Abdul Samad Lasi, a former DCO of Dera Bugti. The court ordered that the accused be arrested and produced before it during the next hearing. Later, the hearing was adjourned until July 18. It may be recalled that earlier a Quetta judicial magistrate had issued arrest warrants for all the accused nominated in Bugti’s murder case, while Balochistan former chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousaf, who is a sitting federal minister, had been issued protective bail by the Sindh High Court. staff report
