Political parties asked to submit account details by Aug 29Staff Report
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has reminded the political parties to file with the commission their statement of accounts for financial year 2011-2012 before August 29.
It may be recalled that Article 13 of the Political Parties Order 2002 provides that every political party shall submit to the ECP within 60 days from the close of each financial year, a consolidated statement of accounts of the party, duly audited by a chartered accountant, containing annual income and expenses, sources of its funds and assets and liabilities.
The statement of accounts of the party is required to be accompanied by a certificate signed by the party leader.
