Fawad Chaudhry made special assistant to PM
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has appointed Fawad Chaudhry as his special assistant on political affairs. His status shall be equal to that of a state minister. Fawad Chaudhry was holding the same portfolio in former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani’s cabinet. Fawad hails from an important political family of Jhelum district. His uncle Chaudhry Altaf Hussain was the Punjab governor in second Benazir Bhutto government in 1993. The special assistant will also be a member of the prime minister’s legal team who is responsible for devising legal strategy for the PM’s case in the Supreme Court. staff report
