Malik Riaz records statement before NAB

ISLAMABAD: Real estate tycoon Malik Riaz Hussain on Friday appeared before the joint investigation team (JIT) at the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) headquarters here and submitted evidence in support of his allegations against Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhry. Malik Riaz also recorded his statement.He was given a detailed questionnaire, which he will return duly filled by him by July 24 (Tuesday), said a NAB handout. Malik Riaz submitted the evidence to substantiate his contention.
He sought further time to provide additional documentary and other evidence in respect of alleged questionable and illegal transactions.
The scope of inquiry has broadened on the basis of evidence placed before the JIT by Malik Riaz and members of the JIT will soon visit the United Kingdom (UK) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for collection of the evidence.
The JIT has summoned Arsalan Iftikhar Chaudhry, Salman Ahmed and Ahmed Khalil on Monday (July 23) for recording of statements.
The JIT has also asked the inspectors general of police for Islamabad Capital Territory and Punjab to ensure service of notices on the said individuals.
