Nawaz stresses importance of democracy in meeting with Munter
ISLAMABAD: The outgoing US Ambassador to Pakistan Cameron Munter met with PML-N president Nawaz Sharif on Sunday.According to a PML-N press release, during the meeting, Nawaz Sharif stressed that the US should make policies which strengthen democratic institutions in Pakistan and should lessen Islamabad’s dependence on foreign aid.
Sharif said the US should follow the policy of mutual trust and respect which would ensure peace in the region.
Munter said the trust of the US had increased with changes in Pakistan and the country was moving in the right direction.
