Sindh govt allots land for 30 power projects

KARACHI: Sindh government has allotted the land for 30 power projects with installed capacity of 1947 MWs in Thar Coalfield of which 9 projects commissioned on fast track basis are expected to obtain CoD before June 2013 with approximate 800MW power on grid by June 2013. The information was given at 5th meeting of Sindh Investment Board presided over by its chairman Muhammad Zubair Motiwala at SBI office on Wednesday. Motiwala speaking at the meeting said that serious efforts were being made for containment of energy crisis in Pakistan through multiple measures. Other than promoting Investments in Thar Coal and Sindh’s Wind Corridor, the SBI is working closely with private sector to examine interventions under solar energy. ppi
