PPP respects all institutions, wants to take them along: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said that to strengthen democracy, the government would ensure holding free, fair and transparent elections in the country. The prime minister, while addressing notables from Gujjar Khan at an iftar dinner held at the Prime Minister’s House on Saturday, said that his party along with its allies would again emerge victorious in the next general elections. He said that his party has full support of the masses. Raja said that all the state institutions were vital and the PPP gave them due respect. He said that the PPP in consultation with all the political parties has laid the foundation of a good future. The consensus appointment of chief election commissioner was a prudent step, and nobody could raise a finger on it, he added. Raja said that the PPP believed in serving the masses and sincerely desired to help the common man by striving for their socio-economic uplift. app
