ECP issues code of conduct for by-electionsISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued the code of conduct for by-elections and given first class magistrate authority to returning officers.
According to the ECP notification, the president, prime minister and chief ministers will not be allowed to visit the 42 national and provincial constituencies were by-elections will be held. The ECP has also barred visits from the governors and ministers.
The prime minister and government officials will also not be allowed to announce development schemes in these constituencies.
