Jamali sees similarities in Quetta and Karachi killings

KARACHI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader and Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Jan Muhammad Jamali, on Thursday said he saw correspondence in incidents of terrorism in Quetta and Karachi. He stated this while talking to the journalists at Sindh Assembly building after meeting with the SA Speaker, Agha Siraj Durrani on Thursday. Both the leaders decided to convene speakers’ conference at the end of this year. The venue for the conference will be Sindh Assembly. Speaker of other provincial assemblies and the National Assembly will be invited at the conference. Jamali said that Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif had given a time frame to Balochistan government to control terrorism in the province, during his recent visit to the Quetta. According to him, incidents of terrorism had increased in Quetta especially after handing over Gwadar Port to China, which appears as a part of international conspiracy. However, he added, different elements were involved in Balochistan law and order problem. Talking about separatist Baloch elements in the province, he said a history of atrocities and sense of deprivation was behind such an extreme level a faction of Baloch youth. According to him, end of injustices and continuation of democratic system in the province was the only solution to Balochistan issue. Speaker, Sindh Assembly, Durrani told journalists that killings in Karachi and Quetta could not be controlled at once and the law and order issue in both the provincial capitals could be resolved through effective measures. staff report
