Medical test dismisses Tauqir Sadiq torture allegation
ISLAMABAD: The medical test of former chairman Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) Tauqir Sadiq was conducted on the orders of accountability court with a view to verify his claim of being subjected to torture by an Investigation Officer, Geo News reported Wednesday.
The findings of the medical report dismissing Tauqir Sadiq’s claim, establish that he was not tortured. The report says that he was completely healthy, as his body bore no marks of torture.
The key accused in Rs.82 billion scam had also asked the doctor to get him a burger during the medical test, however, the doctor did not show any reaction to it.
Earlier, during the hearing at an Accountability court, Tauqir Sadiq had alleged that the Investigation Officer (IO) Waqas Khan had tortured him prompting the court to order a medical test to confirm or reject his claim.
