Contingency plan to ensure security during the month of fasting
KARACHI: On the directives of Sindh Inspector General Police (IGP) Shahid Nadeem Baloch, Karachi police have prepared Ramazan Contingency Plan. The plan has been sent it to police stations and orders issued to Zonal DIGs and SSPs. Additional IG Karachi Ghulam Qadir Thebo said 3,328 mosques, 257 imambargahs, 1,007 madaris, 306 open spaces for Namaz and Tarawih, 294 shopping centres have been included in contingency plan. At least 366 police mobile patrols and motorcycles for police pickets formation will be deployed. Additional IG Karachi told in the report that 700 police national volunteers would be deployed along with police for providing security to religious congregations for the three ‘Ashra’, including Youm-e-Ali and Shab-e-Qadir. Police control rooms at range and district levels, as well as watchtowers are also being established besides setting up police reporting centres. The clearance of parking areas by Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) will sweep areas, especially parking and public spaces would be monitored. ppi
