KP willing to support markets’ closure after dusk: Pervez Khattak
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said on Thursday his government would support the decision of having markets and business centres closed after dusk if other provinces also agree to this proposal, which is aimed at saving electricity and minimising load shedding.
During a meeting with a delegation of local industrialists, the chief minister discussed with them various matters relating to the revival and development of industrial sector and problems being faced by industrialists in the province. Pervez Khattak said the provincial government had decided to hand over all the industrial estates to the private sector, adding that “cheap electricity” would also be provided to these industrial parks in order to revive the “closed and sick industrial units”. The provincial government was also introducing basic reforms in all other sectors, he told the delegation, adding that working groups of experts and professionals had been constituted in all the departments to implement the reforms agenda of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s provincial government.

various matters related to
Drug Regularity Authority, Sarhad Development Authority and Small Industries Development Board also came under discussion.
The delegation was led by Frontier Steels Chief Executive Nauman Wazir. Other members included Riaz Arshad, Haji Afzal, Umar Zakori, Malik Niaz, Zahid Shinwari, Muhammad Tahir, Imtiaz Ahamd and Naeem Shahzad. staff report
