After secretary MoWP, axe falls on chairman Wapda Raghib Shah
ISLAMABAD: For their failing to launch effective measures in the face of a crippling power crisis, the government has decided to replace the chairman Water & Power Development Authority (WAPDA) with someone competent, Geo News reported.
Sources say Secretary Water & Power, Anwar Khan has already been given official marching orders, however a notice to this effect will be issued to chairman Wapda, Syed Raghib Shah tomorrow.
Moreover, for the office of chairman Wapda, almost lying vacant now, the names of at least three potential candidates have been sent to Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, who will shortlist one of them by tomorrow evening.
It must be recalled that Raghib Shah was tasked to improve the power generation, distribution, and bring the load shedding under control within a month, but the crisis even worsened under his management.
