During proceedings of the case, the court also ordered seizure of assets of former health secretary Khushnood Lashari and three owners of pharmaceutical companies after they failed to submit details of their assets.
The counsel for Ali Musa Gilani, main accused in the case, informed the court that his client had Rs 1.53 million in his bank account while Abdul Qadir Gilani had Rs 444,138. Fauzia Gilani, the wife of former PM, has Rs 27,226 in her bank account, the lawyer added.
Former health minister Makhdoom Shahabuddin also submitted details of his assets and informed the court that his source of income was agricultural land. The hearing of the case was then adjourned until July 30.
On July 6, the court had issued notices to 15 accused in the ephedrine scam and sought their response on an application by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), which called for confiscation of the property of the accused. app
