Pak seeks explanation from India over former CBI official’s statement
ISLAMABAD: Information Minister, Parvez Rasheed said Thursday that Pakistan had sought an explanation from India over the statement by a former CBI officer regarding the terror attack on the Indian Parliament and the 2008 Mumbai attacks.
Speaking to Geo News, Rasheed added that Pakistan would issue its response to the statement made by the former CBI officer after a response was received from India.
A member of a special investigating team of the CBI alleged that the incumbent government had “orchestrated” the Indian Parliament and Mumbai attacks. An affidavit submitted by a former Indian Home Ministry office in the Supreme Court of India said that he had been informed by the CBI officer that both the terror attacks were staged with the “objective of strengthening the country’s counter-terror legislation (sic).”
The information minister added that recommendations of making the Abbottabad Commission report public would be considered.
Commenting on recent statements made by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, Rasheed said politicians should refrain from making such statements
Rasheed further said that he respected Pakistan Tehreek-e Insaf chairman, Imran Khan’s opinion regarding the All Parties Conference.
