ECP sends letters to provincesISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has dispatched separate letters to the provinces concerned containing instructions to comply with in connection with the holding of local bodies’ elections. According to ECP sources, the commission has directed the provinces to adopt a uniform mechanism for holding the local bodies’ polls. The letters instruct the provinces to formulate uniform legislation for the said polls besides maintaining similarity in the mechanism adopted for the purpose to ensure simultaneous holding of by-elections across the country. staff report
