MQM accuses Imran of hatching conspiracy
KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Monday strongly criticized the Pakistan Thereek-e-Insaf for leveling allegations against its supremo Altaf Hussain and accused him of hatching conspiracy against the Karachi-based party.
Addressing a press conference, MQM leader Haider Abbass Rizvi said Imran Khan and his party hurt sentiments of millions of supporters of the MQM.
He said that Khan showed political immaturity by accusing MQM of murdering Zahra Shahid. He said Zahra Shahid's murder was being used for political purposes.
Rizvi added that a politically motivated campaign was launched on social media against the MQM and its chief following the murder of Zahra Shahid, who, he said was sidelined by her party.
“Why does Imran want to disturb peace in Sindh by provoking its people,” Rizvi said.
He also criticized the PTI for what he said was its failure in maintaining peace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and fulfilling its promises which it made during election campaign.
The MQM leader said that neither Imran nor any of the PTI leader condemned the killing of their party lawmakers at the hands of militants. He said that Imran Khan never wanted an end to terrorism.
