Rabbani says campaigning to be affected by reschedule

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) presidential candidate Raza Rabbani has said that change in the presidential poll date will affect his campaign, Geo News reported Wednesday.

Addressing a press conference here, Rabbani said the Supreme Court rescheduled the presidential elections after listening to only one party. He was flanked by PPP leaders Amin Fahim, Aitzaz Ahsan and Opposition leader in the national assembly Syed Khursheed Shah.

Rabbani said he was a presidential candidate, however, he was not served any notice pertaining to hearing in the plea, seeking change in the poll date.

The PPP candidate questioned how could he run an election campaign as he belongs to the middle class and the opposition benches. He said he also could not go to Karachi, Quetta, Lahore and Peshawar in two days as he had no government machinery to benefit from.
