Sindh cabinet discusses LG polls, new energy policy

KARACHI: Sindh cabinet on Wednesday discussed local bodies elections in the province and new national energy policy, Geo News reported.

Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah presided over the meeting.

The meeting discussed LG elections in the light of Supreme Court (SC) orders. Consultations were held on local bodies system 1979. A five-member committee was constituted to deliberate amendments in this system.

The committee, comprises Owais Muzaffar, Nisar Khoro, Sharjeel Memom, Mir Hazar Khan Bijarani and Sikander Maindero, will present its proposals to the chief minister after consultations with other political parties in the province.

Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah apprised the members on the decisions of Council of Common Interest (CCI) particularly on new national energy policy.
