No-trust motion: PPP assures backing to AJK premier
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party leader Syed Khurshid Ahmed Shah on Thursday met with Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Abdul Majeed and assured the latter of the party’s backing in the face of the no-trust motion submitted against him in the AJK Legislative Assembly secretariat.
The meeting took place in Islamabad and mainly discussed the no-confidence motion brought against Majeed by two ruling People’s Party (PPAJK) dissidents. The resolution, submitted on July 22, also proposed Barrister Sultan Mahmood, a top PPAJK leader, as successor of the incumbent premier. Submitted by Minister for Rehabilitation Abdul Majid Khan and MLA Mohammad Hussain Sargala, the resolution is said to have the support of around 17-18 members of the ruling coalition, and the entire opposition. online
