Presidential Election: ECP issues final list of candidates
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission on Saturday issued the final list of presidential candidates, Geo News reported.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Mamnoon Hussain and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Justice (retd) Wajihuddin Ahmed would contest the polls for the coveted posted of the head of the state.
The ECP had fixed 12:00 pm Saturday to withdraw nomination papers before it issued final list of candidates.
Nomination papers of Mamnoon Hussain, Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Wajihuddin Ahmed were approved by the ECP. However, Jhagra, who was a covering candidate for Hussain, withdrew his papers.
