SC summons Imran Khan over contempt of court
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imaran Khan has been issued a contempt of court notice by the Supreme Court and summoned on August 2.
The notice was taken on a note written by the Supreme Court Registrar under article 204 read with section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003.
Khan has been accused of scandalizing the judiciary and spreading hatred against judges during a news conference on 26 July. Imran Khan had been critical at the said news conference of the decision to change the presedential election schedule and rigging during the May 11 polls.
The apex court has also issued a notice to Attorney General Munir A Malik to appear on August 2.
