Nawaz says IDPs not to be left alone
* PM, Nisar discuss political issues, national security
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minster Nawaz Sharif said on Tuesday that the internally displaced persons (IDPs) would not be left alone and assured full support to them.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar met Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif at the PM House on Tuesday in a development that negates rumours of drifts within the PML-N leadership. Issues related to politics and national security were reportedly discussed in the meeting. Sources in PM House said the agenda of the meeting entailed discussion on national and political issues and the meeting was held in a good environment. Sources said that at a time when the country is stuck in a host of problems, it was not possible for the interior minister to remain detached from his official responsibilities. The interior minister has already refuted reports of rifts between the ruling party leaders, and said that the focus and objective of the prime minister was national matters.
During the meeting, the prime minister assured Nisar that all his grievances and issues would be resolved. “Party matters should be resolved within the party,” the premier had said. Meanwhile, the interior minister told the premier that he has no personal grievances with him and that under all circumstances they should work for the government and party interest.
Also, former senator Saranjam Khan called on Prime Minister Nawaz at the PM House on Tuesday. The meeting was focused on national and political issues. Former MNA Saud Majeed was also present in the meeting. Later, Raja Ishfaq Sarwar, Punjab minister for labour, discussed matters related to his ministry with the prime minister. Meanwhile, in a meeting with Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif pledged full support to the internally displaced persons, saying they would not be left alone in their time of difficulty.
According to sources he. The two leaders discussed issues pertaining to the IDPs of North Waziristan. The finance minister apprised the prime minister of funds released for the IDPs. Sources quoted the prime minister as saying that there was no dearth of resources and the government would ensure provision of assistance, rehabilitation and relief and early settlement process.
