Sarwar, Shahbaz eulogize Nizami's services

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday paid tributes to the late Majid Nizmai for his services for journalism and Pakistan.

Talking to journalists after the funeral prayers of Majid Nizmai on the Bagh-e-Jinnah lawns here, the chief minister said he was a national asset and his demise was a great loss for every man in the country. "Nizami sahib never bowed down before dictatorship while he even criticized us (democratic rulers) frequently,” he added.

Shahbaz also eulogized the meritorious services of the veteran journalist who had dedicated his life to journalism. Speaking briefly, Punjab Governor Muhammad Sarwar also expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Majid Nizami, adding that the void created by the demise of Majid Nizami could not be filled.

He said that Majid Nizami's services for the country and journalism would be remembered for long.
